Description

The Hubert Curien partnership (PHC Tassili) + is an Algerian-French cooperation program which provides support for joint research projects for a period of 3 years, in particular on mobility within French laboratories, Algerian doctoral students, and young teacher-researchers preparing for accreditation on the one hand, and on the mobility of confirmed French and Algerian researchers between France and Algeria on the other hand. This scientific mobility program focuses on Algerian-French projects relating to food security, energy security, citizen health, artificial intelligence, digitalization, environmental changes and sustainable development.

The duration of each project is 03 years. Project managers benefit from one coordination mission per year lasting 07 days maximum Doctoral students benefit from a scholarship ranging from 3 months to 6 months maximum per year. Post-doctoral researchers benefit from one month of scholarship per year.

Benefits

The average amount of support provided to each project each year is around €20,000: - The French side contributes around €10,000 (on average €8,000 for mobility and €2,000 for logistical support), - The Algerian side contributes around €10,000. The financing of PHC projects for the Algerian part is carried out through credits dedicated to Algerian establishments by the MESRS, whether these are mobility or logistical support credits. For the French part, mobility credits are managed by the operator Campus France, and logistical support by the secretariat of the PHC Tassili in France (Ecole Centrale de Lyon).

 

Eligibility

  • All disciplinary fields are eligible. Particular attention will be paid to cross-cutting projects in areas related to: food security, energy security, citizen health, artificial intelligence and its multiple applications, digitalization of the economy, environmental changes and sustainable development. in a context of climate change.
  • Joint supervision must be encouraged and co-supervision remains obligatory (1 to 2 per project) – the student must be enrolled in the 1st year of a doctorate in Algeria at the time of submitting the project: this is a criterion for project admissibility.
  • The Algerian and French co-directors must agree on the thesis subject(s) and on the parts of the work that will be carried out in each of the two countries according to a well-established schedule. The application file must include a written commitment from the co-directors to set up co-direction or joint supervision.
  • Fluency in French is required.
